As Close As Anyone Gets

The birds sound rusty
and anxious
or that's us
playing guitar
for dinner guests. . .

We hear a friend
read from a book
she wrote years ago—
same spirit just
barefooted.

Which one is wind
and which one is ghost?
If my dead brother
is your answer,
I’m listening.
